The Yak-15 as developed by developed after the second world war was a first generation Soviet Turbo Jet fighter. It first flew in 1946. The aircraft was the USSR's first attempt at Jet fighter aviation and while limited in features, it was severely underestimated for its utility and function and paved the way for the successes of Soviet Fighter planes in the decades to come.
